Inter Rhône is a dynamic, deeply committed professional association bringing together the wine-growers and wine merchants of the Rhône Valley. It coordinates the promotional, business and technical activities of the region’s AOC wines: Côtes du Rhône (regional, villages and Crus), Costières de Nîmes, Luberon, Ventoux, Grignan les Adhémar, Côtes du Vivarais and the naturally sweet wines Muscat de Beaumes de Venise and Rasteau. The association’s work is based on three fundamental principles: fair representation of the professional “families” involved, an equal balance of the interests of producers and traders, and unanimity on any major decision. The aim is to achieve greater recognition of the region’s wines, in France and in more than 15 other European, Asian and North American markets.

A targetted communication strategy

To promote its wines, Inter Rhône has developed a communication strategy geared to each market, taking into account distribution networks and people’s drinking habits… Its mission is to foster knowledge and appreciation of the great wealth of the Rhône Valley’s AOC wines, in France and abroad. Working on behalf of the different appellations, the association organises and funds promotional activities and advertising campaigns, addressed to the general public and retail professionals, restaurateurs and wine merchants.

Promoting the region's AOC wines

Inter Rhône organises activities at retail outlets, guided wine-tastings and training courses. It also encourages contact between members of the profession and the general public by organising or taking part in many international exhibitions and special events, In France, in particular, it is heavily involved in establishing a rich and rewarding wine-tourism network based on “wine routes”, a visitors’ charter for wine-growers and the provision of training.

Research in pursuit of quality

Finally, Inter- Rhône provides in-depth technical support for the Rhône wine-growing region: drawing on the resources of a well-equipped laboratory, its teams of experts carry out technical, scientific and oenological research, with just one end in view: constant improvement of the region’s AOC wines.
